Blogging Basics

What is Blogging?

A guide to understanding the concept of blogging

Ever wonder why most all of the teens today are addicted to the internet? Well it has everything a young exploring mind needs. From browsing the net for document researches, shopping, cooking, gaming, chat, and a whole bunch of stuff going inside a website’s offer.

Yep, all of these including one secluded part of a teen’s life which is their journal. Don’t believe me? Then try hooking up on the internet now and see how much there is that is available today.

Aside from being a window for the readers to see what’s on the author’s mind, a blog lets him elaborate on facts or scribble out whatever idea that pops out his head. A blog is a simplified term for “web blog”-a new generation medium for writing articles, essays, statements and the like.

What is Blogging? It’s usually composed of texts or sometimes pictures and multimedia topics. If you’re tired of jotting down every single detail of your life’s worth on paper, why not try the new fad of journalism which is blogging. Blogging literally means sharing a comment of life through the internet.

It is an up-to-date source. A sequence of events. A timeless exhibit of creativity and style. An outlet for one’s self.

The popularity of blog comes in different areas. Anyone can write anything that comes out of his head. Whether a walk on a sunny day or a dip into California ’s wild waters, it serves as a diary and is readily updated. What’s good about blogging is that it is not bounded by editing and is cheap.

The commercial velocity of a blog depends on a writer’s instinct to create a worthy article. Either formative or informative, rational or irrational, for as long as the readers can visualize what the author has posted your blog’s a hit.

Technical specialties and skills, not necessary. Publishing freedom, an advantage. All that is needed is for you to have a witty mind, a desire to share ideas and part of your story, and a bit of knowledge to toggle into the internet. Grammatical errors are welcome. No editors and publishing companies to please. Journalism without rules or guidelines to follow and what’s best is that readers could post a comment or be inspired to write one too.

Blogging wouldn’t be difficult if you have the right recipes. Not just a simple-text article, a blog may be enhanced or converted into other types like an audio blog or a video blog. Nowadays, blogs are more sophisticated and advanced. Element of a blog starts from a good and captivating headline down to the author’s personal profile. Included herewith are the blog post, permalink (combined term for “permanent link”), and the reader’s comments.

A friend of mine is a blogger. She would entertain herself by posting blogs on her web page. She told me that blogging is an advantage for her to speak up to the world of the things that’s keeping her shut. And I quote, “I am an internet junkie. I am not a big fan of journalism or any kind of writing.

But it all changed when the blogging fever entered internet society. I appreciated it more when I felt everything that’s written are real and not just a compulsory decoy to deliver information. Right then, I became a part of a bigger picture.”

Trapped in a world of unwanted opinions, blogging is a benefit. But everything has its own consequences. Blogs are much harder to manage than that of the broadcast media. In politically sensitive issues, blogs can be considered as a political misfit. Results are triggered through suppression of bloggers and punishments were made. Another grave case is the issue of defamation and liability.

Nevertheless, blogging is still out there. So if you’re the type who has the snap for writing, give blogging a shot. You never know how much it would contribute to the society and to your pockets.

What is Blogging?
Useful tips for beginner bloggers

Aren't you getting used to all those blogs you found? Do you have trouble doing your own thing? It's natural for many people. Here are some useful tips on the effectiveness of blogs.

Tip 1  Has a headline

Make sure readers have an idea of what they are reading. Do not create an unnecessary comment or video blog. Emphasize their participation by posting opinions and comments. Think about what is interesting to read. Let readers be captivated; start with your title. Let it be a leading position. Motivate them by attracting their attention.

Tip 2  Creating paragraphs

Each blog is made up of a thought. This does not necessarily mean that you should imitate this thought by keeping an entire paragraph. Share your ideas. Cut it into pieces. Compose sub-ideas that support the overall picture. Don't make it difficult for your viewers to read a large stone. Divide them into balls.

Tip 3  Characterize

Insert a small parameter in your letter. Don't be so serious about your blog. Make sure that quality and lightness go hand in hand. Pretend you're talking to the whole world. Give your blog a little taste. Discuss. Let them react. Let her feel it. Add emotions and not just writing.

Tip 4  With time limit

Old news can be boring. Mix it with the new one. Update it. Or better yet, look at this. It is in the nature of humanity to seek something relevant, acceptable, contributing and above all something. Current topics always attract attention. So look at these research skills.

Tip 5  Installation

Yeah, you're a blogger. But that doesn't mean you're good at it. Before your readers even brag about the incompetence of their writing skills, block them. Install anti-spam software and tools to filter these comments and keep them moderate. Comments can be positive or negative. So be careful to accept the good and get rid of the bad.

Tip 6  Be realistic

Don't get lost with your contributions. A fundamental aspect of blogging is the contribution it would make to the media. Personal relationships must be established. Have a constant conversation. One way to do this is to remain true to each of your words. Swear it with a little finger. No one would believe it was a scam. Create significant value that will encourage your readers to come back to learn more.

Tip 7  Answer the question

Reply to your comments. Don't let it go unnoticed. When your reader asks you a question, be prepared to answer it. Silence is not an advantage in this type of industry. Pay attention to what people think and record their reactions. If they react, give a satisfactory answer. When criticism comes into play, be careful.

Tip 8  Advertising

If your blog goes unnoticed, it doesn't mean it's useless. At least you can satisfy your writing skills. But if you still don't have the attention of a reader, why not publish your blog? All you have to do is go to other sites and write a comment on their blogs and invite them to visit yours at the same time. It is an exchange process.

Blogs are new journalistic media that reflect an author's free will to publish. It's not just another stone in the wall. It definitely means something.

The 3 habits of highly effective bloggers

To become an effective blogger

1) Must have a strong DESIRE

Desire is a powerful force that cannot be easily stopped. Think about your goal, what you want to achieve in life and ask yourself the following questions:

◎ Do you really want to achieve your goal?
◎ Do you want to achieve your goal to such an extent that you will never give up?
◎ What are you willing to sacrifice to achieve your goal?
◎ Under what circumstances would you not achieve your objective?

If you really want to achieve a goal, you will find the means to do so! Where there is the will, there is the way.

Your desire is the fire that gives you the energy to achieve and exceed your goals.

The grown-ups have the three keys:

1. know exactly what they want (faith and enthusiasm)
2. require it sufficiently (request)
3. they are determined to achieve this (willingness).

2) Be PERSISTENT and move on with passion

Perseverance is something you can always acquire by training yourself, provided you have the right attitude, desire, personal motivation and knowledge. Most of the successful bloggers you may know are not born persevering. They trained for perseverance.

One of the keys to success in everything you do is perseverance. Once you have determined exactly what you want to achieve, you must take massive action on a consistent and sustained basis to succeed.

Find out how persistent you are and work to improve or strengthen yourself. Here are some questions for reflection and analysis:

☑ Do you have a clear reason for what you want to achieve?
☑ Do you constantly postpone your decisions, plans and actions?
☑ Do you have a strong claim or a passion for blogging?
☑ Do you have the love and enthusiasm to do what you are going to do?
☑ Do you believe in achieving what you are about to do?
☑ Do you follow your plans, activities and tasks to the end?

Now you have a better understanding of yourself in terms of persistent. The analysis may have led you to discover your strengths and weaknesses.

The 3 habits of highly effective bloggers

3) Don't be a QUITTER

Are you a quitter? People give up, of course. They end their healthy eating plans, end their relationships or marriages, quit playing as a team and quit their work. People sometimes quit smoking for the simpliest reason or for no reason at all.

There are bloggers who lose sight of their objective and begin to focus on the bad circumstances around them. They are tired of doing the same thing day after day, apparently to no avail.

There is one important thing I want to encourage you to do when things get difficult: "Focus on your goal.

When a blogger start to write, usually has a goal in mind and were eager to achieve it. But, as soon as the difficulties and objectives seem almost impossible to achieve, it would tend to fade away and  easily stopped their work.

If your tiredness push you to flee, to retaliate, to go out the easy way, you must check first with your integrity and your spiritual compass. So you will find security as a result of your commitment to a higher goal.

Promoting Your Blog

How to market your blog to increase traffic

Blogging can be a great deal of fun for some bloggers but for others it is a source of income. Whether this income is earned through an AdSense campaign, paid advertisements, affiliate marketing or some other type of revenue generating source one of the key elements to maximizing this profit is by driving greater traffic to the blog. This is because the more visitors the blog receives the more opportunities there are for the blogger to have visitors click through the advertisements in the blog. There are a few basic techniques which bloggers can rely on to promote their blog and increase traffic to their blog. This article will cover a few of these key concepts including participating in relevant message boards, optimizing the blog for search engines and keeping the blog interesting to visitors.

Promoting Your Blog

Active Participation in Message Boards

Participation in message boards which relate to the blog topic is actually one very simple way for blog owners to drive traffic to their blog. However, one caveat to using this type of promotion for the blog is to avoid violating the rules of the message board. This is important because some message boards have strict regulations regarding the inclusion of links to other websites on the message board. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in the blogger being banned from the message board and may also cause other message board users to not think highly of the blog owner.

Another careful consideration for the blog owner is to avoid posting the web address to his blog in a way which will be considered spam by other message board users. This is important because other message board users are likely to not visit the blog if they believe the blog owner is simply spamming the message board. This can be avoided by including the link to the blog in the signature and ensuring the posts made on the message board are informative and of interest to the other message board users. Building a reputation as a useful contributor to the message board will be beneficial to enticing other users of the message board to visit the blog.

Optimizing Your Blog

Search engine optimization is another factor which blog owners should also carefully consider. Optimizing the blog for search engines can be beneficial because improved search engine rankings often lead to increased blog traffic. Depending on the amount of competition on the blog subject rising to the top of the search engine rankings may not always be easy. Blog owners who have a blog with a very popular subject may face stiff competition for search engine rankings from other blogs and websites which may have the means to hire professionals in the search engine optimization industry to assist them in achieving high rankings. However, there are some steps the blogger can take to attempt to boost rankings. Some of these steps include researching and using relevant keywords naturally throughout the blog postings, incorporating these keywords into the title, META and image tags and avoiding black hat optimizing techniques which could result in the blog being penalized by search engines.

Keeping Your Blog Interesting

Finally, one of the simplest ways a blog owner can help to drive traffic to his blog is by regularly updating the blog and keeping it interesting. This is important because a blog which is interesting is much more likely to not only maintain blog traffic but also generate new traffic. This is because readers who are interested in the posts on the blog are not only likely to keep coming back to the blog but are also likely to recommend the blog to other members of the target audience. This type of word of mouth advertising can be very beneficial because those who have an interest in the content of a particular blog also typically have friends who would also be interested in the blog. Once one blog owner recommends a blog to one or more friends, these new blog visitors are also likely to recommend the blog to others if they find it to be interesting, useful or otherwise worthwhile.

Is Blogspot a good blogging platform?

The best free blogging platforms

Is Blogspot a good blogging platform

Well, obviously you will noticed what kind of platform is my official choice for my blog and personally I consider this a good platform to use.

Blogger.com is owned by Google. It's an excellent options. You can add things like Google Adsense, videos, graphics, text links, etc. to your blog very quickly. Google has done an excellent job, which allows you to customize your blog very easily.

1. It is 100% free and easy to install. This is the main attraction of this type of blog. Google offers several templates to choose from, and with a few clicks you'll have a blog you're ready to develop. You don't need any technical knowledge to get started.

2. One thing you don't want to do is add a lot of duplicate content to your blog. Don't do this to me. Don't do this to me. This is the fastest way to ban your blog. This applies to any type of blog you do, but it's especially true if your blog is hosted on Google.

3. If you constantly add duplicate content that can be found on other sites, there is no real benefit for Google to host it, and your blog will be banned. When you think about it, it makes sense. If you keep your unique content, Google will be happy to host it for you.

4. If you are not yet a Google Adsense affiliate, you want to join it and place Google ads on your blog. Easy to monetize. Google adapts advertisers to the theme of your blog. You can customize the look of your blog by mixing ads as you like. Never click on your own ads.

5. several niches. It is very easy to diversify and to launch a large number of blogs in different niches. It's important to keep adding new content to your blogs. However, my advice is never to take more blogs than you can maintain.

You will find that Google is very happy to rank you high on its search engine because it gives them the ability to promote their advertisers when you have Google ads on your blog. You target specific keyword phrases.

Personally, I think it's a good idea to host some of your own blogs. However, there is nothing wrong with having a few Google blogs to make money if you like blogs.

Blogging with Blogger

Blogger is one of the many options available to bloggers who are looking for free blog software. This website located at the following web address: http://www.blogger.com offers registered users the opportunity to publish their own blog free of charge. The website also has templates the blogger can use to create his blog and even enables bloggers to easily place Google advertisements on their blog and coordinates an AdSense account for the users so they can potentially earn a profit from their blog. This article will discuss the history of Blogger as well as the terms of service.

The History of Blogger

Blogger began in 1999 with a small group of friends in the San Francisco area who ran a company called Pyra Labs. These friends did not set out to create a network of bloggers but nevertheless Blogger emerged from their efforts. The three friends who developed bloggers were programmers who toiled away for others in an effort to fund their own endeavors. As previously mentioned a blog network was not their original goal but the friends were intrigued by the idea as it emerged and found others were interested too as their concept quickly took off and new members were joining everyday. Like most Internet entrepreneurs of this time period, they experienced setbacks but continued to persevere.

In 2002 Blogger was doing well but got an unexpected surprise when Google expressed interest in purchasing Pyra Labs. Google was interested in the upswing in the blogging community and the members of Pyra Lab sold their company enabling Google to take over the operation. Since taking over Google introduced the concept of AdSense advertising campaigns on blogs which has been generating profits for Google and bloggers alike. Blogger not only offers members templates to create a blog and voice their opinions on the Internet but also simplifies the process of placing AdSense advertisements on the blog.

Blogger Terms of Service

The Terms of Service of Blogger are susceptible to change but there are a few basic terms which users can expect to exist. The Terms of Service for Blogger provides explanations of items such as the services offered, description of proper use of the services, privacy policies, an explanation of intellectual property rights, cause for termination and information regarding the legal jurisdiction of the website. Members of Blogger are advised to carefully review these policies before becoming a member and to be sure they understand and agree to all of these terms. If the potential member is unsure about the meaning of one or more of the terms, he should contact Blogger to seek clarification on the Terms of Service.

Members of Blogger should also be aware that the Terms of Service may change and should review these terms periodically to ensure there have been no changes made which will adversely impact the member.

Members of Blogger should pay particular attention to the section of the Terms of Service which specify causes for termination of a member’s account. This information is important because it will help to prevent the member from inadvertently performing an action which may result in his account being terminated or suspended. Blogger is not required to inform the member of the infractions before suspending the account so a member will likely lose his account before he is even aware he has violated the Terms of Service agreement.
